What does Situational Leadership Assessment include?
- 16 forced-choice situational judgement items across realistic management scenarios
- Scores across all four Hersey-Blanchard styles: Directing, Coaching, Supporting, Delegating
- Style Range shows how widely a leader uses all four styles, beyond their dominant default
- Dominant and secondary style identification, with the follower development level each style suits
- Development guide with specific coaching actions for each of the four follower maturity levels
Why does it matter?
A leader who uses one default style with everyone will mismatch the people who need something different. Hersey & Blanchard's (1969) Life Cycle Theory of Leadership, later refined into the Situational Leadership model, proposed that effectiveness depends on matching directive or supportive behaviour to a follower's specific development level โ not on any one 'best' leadership style.

Frequently asked questions
Is there one 'best' leadership style?
No โ Hersey & Blanchard's (1969) central argument is that effectiveness depends on matching style to the follower's development level, not on defaulting to any single style. No dominant style is better than another, and neither is any particular Style Range.
How is Style Range different from knowing my dominant style?
Your dominant style is the one you chose most often. Style Range shows how widely you used the other three. It describes variety, not accuracy: using all four evenly is not automatically better, because the right style depends on the person and the task.
